Jaswant Thada - To the left of the Mehrangarh Fort complex is the Jaswant Thada of Jodhpur, Rajasthan. It is a 19th century royal cenotaph built in commemoration of Maharaja Jaswant Singh II, the 33rd Rathore ruler of Jodhpur. The son of Maharaja Jaswant Singh, Maharaja Sardar Singh, in the memory of his father, built the Jaswant Thada. The cenotaph has two more tombs within it. Near to this are the royal crematorium and three other cenotaphs.

Bisnoi village sect was established by Guru Jambheshwar who was born in the year 1451. The sect was founded after disastrous effects of constant battles between local Hindu population and Muslim invaders. For his followers, 29 rules, regulations and principles were given by Guru Jambheshwar. The primary law was to conserve animals and trees to completely abolish the practice of hurting environment. On his death, he proclaimed that black buck is his manifestation and hence the species must be conserved rigorously. .

Patwon Ki Haveli - One of the largest havelis in Rajasthan, Patwon ki Haveli is a cluster of five small havelis. Started by Guman Chand Patwa, a wealthy banker, Patwon ki Haveli took almost 55 years to be built and was completed by his sons.

With huge life-size elephants carved out of yellow stone and intricately carved exteriors and interiors, this haveli is one you just can’t afford to miss. Jain temple - The Jain temples are the most important religious attractions in Jaisalmer. Constructed in the 12th century, the temples are situated within the Jaisalmer Fort campus.
The Jain temples are famous for their intricate carvings and architecture and bear striking similarity to the Dilwara Temples near Mount Abu, Rajasthan.

Gadisar Lake has been a landmark in the beautiful city of Jaisalmer. This lake has carried on the culture and heritage of this land in Rajasthan and is one of the most valuable assets that this city possesses. This lake was artificially built by the first Maharaja of this city – Raja Rawal Jaisal as a water conservation reservoir that would help the major water problems that his people were facing. .

Watch the Sunset at Vyas Chhatri
Vyas Chhatri, on the edge of Jaisalmer north of the Fort, is dedicated to the great sage Vyasa who authored the Hindu epic The Mahabharata. This haunting place is used as a cremation ground for Pushkarana Brahmins and contains many cenotaphs (empty tombs) erected in honor of notable ones. The cenotaphs are referred to as chhatris because of their domes, which look like umbrellas (chhatris). Go there for spectacular sunsets over the city.
